About the position

The Cybersecurity Engineer will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's critical information assets. This position involves implementing advanced security measures, staying ahead of cybersecurity threats, and ensuring the safety and reliability of the company's systems and data. The role is contract-to-hire, allowing for a transition to a permanent position after a successful contract period.

Responsibilities

  • Actively identify potential security risks and develop strategies to mitigate vulnerabilities, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
  • Analyze, integrate, and refine security tools and technologies to bolster the organization's cybersecurity framework.
  • Establish, update, and enforce security policies, processes, and procedures that align with industry best practices.
  • Keep abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, recommending and implementing ongoing enhancements to the company's defenses.
  • Manage and respond to security alerts from various platforms, ensuring proper prioritization and remediation.
  • Configure and manage security devices and tools in accordance with established best practices.
  • Investigate and address phishing alerts, and oversee quarantine and release requests as needed.
  • Take ownership of vulnerabilities identified in security assessments and penetration testing, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to lead and execute cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Perform any other cybersecurity duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information security, or a closely related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, with expertise in Cisco/Meraki and Ubiquiti systems.
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) concepts and best practices.
  • Practical experience with leading security platforms and firewalls, such as SentinelOne, Proofpoint, CrowdStrike, Tenable, SumoLogic, Okta, and Zscaler.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team on complex cybersecurity projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
