About the position

The Cyber Security Engineer will provide essential security engineering support for the design, development, fielding, and sustainment of embedded electronics systems specifically for Army ground combat vehicle systems. This role involves leading a project team, reviewing systems for vulnerabilities, and coordinating penetration testing efforts, all while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a combined project team of government and contract employees located in various locations while meeting directed delivery dates.
  • Review ground combat vehicle systems for vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Develop and input data to support the Department of Defense Risk Mitigation Framework.
  • Coordinate with government personnel to plan, coordinate, and execute penetration testing.
  • Develop Army Acquisition Milestone Documentation with the project team.
  • Provide electrical, mechanical, and software support to Combat Vehicle system bench planning, design, development, and execution.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with Army customers and DCS Engineers.
  • Develop Subject Matter Expertise on various combat vehicle subsystems.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Some exposure to Cyber or a willingness to work in and learn Cyber, preferably the DoD RMF process.
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Software Engineering processes.
  • Ability to travel to various customer and contractor facilities and test centers.

Nice-to-haves

  • CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
  • Embedded software experience.
  • C5ISR experience: Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.
  • Prior Military Experience.
  • Familiarity with DoD C4ISR Systems such as BFT, SINCGARS, WIN-T, and/or familiarity with Network Operations or Tactical Intranet.
  • Experience with US Army Ground Combat Vehicle System Electronics Hardware and Software.
  • Experience in Information Assurance, Computer Security, Risk Management Framework for Ground Combat/Military Systems.
  • Experience with SysMIL.
  • Experience in Nuclear engineering or EMI.
