About the position

As a Cyber Security Engineer at Peraton, you will play a pivotal role in capturing and refining information security requirements, ensuring that these requirements are seamlessly integrated into information technology component products and information systems. This integration is achieved through purposeful security architecting, design, development, and configuration. Your expertise will be essential in leading development teams that are tasked with designing and developing new information systems or upgrading existing legacy systems. In this role, you will conduct thorough product research and support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) activities, which will help in independently identifying the most appropriate security solutions for various projects. You will also assist in leading the development of system concepts, contributing significantly to the capability phase of the systems development lifecycle. This includes translating technology and environmental conditions, such as laws and regulations, into effective system security designs and processes. Additionally, you will oversee the work of Senior, Mid, and Junior-level contractor Cyber Security Engineers, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the project goals and security standards. Your leadership will be crucial in developing and documenting Security Architectures, Roadmaps, and investments that will guide the organization’s security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and refine information security requirements.
  • Integrate security requirements into IT component products and information systems.
  • Lead development teams in designing and developing information systems or upgrading legacy systems.
  • Conduct product research and support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) activities.
  • Lead the development of system concepts and contribute to the capability phase of the systems development lifecycle.
  • Translate technology and environmental conditions into system security designs and processes.
  • Develop and document Security Architectures, Roadmaps, and investments.
  • Oversee the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level contractor Cyber Security Engineers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
  • 18 years of technical experience in Cyber Security Engineering or related fields.
  • 18 years of working experience in government or industry within Cyber Security Engineering.
  • DoD 8570 Level II (IASAE) certification compliance.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expert working experience in leading enterprise-level cyber security efforts.
  • Experience with architecting, designing, developing, and configuring cloud and on-premise systems and software.
  • Experience engineering Cyber Security solutions using Cloud Based Technology (SOA, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
  • Experience with structured and unstructured Big Data in Cyber Security solutions.
  • Experience with Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence technologies in Cyber Security.
