About the position

LinTech Global Inc. is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support our contract at PEO STRI in Orlando, Florida. This position is crucial for developing and implementing organizational security strategies and protocols. The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for researching new security software, addressing technical problems, and planning necessary upgrades to computer systems. A significant part of the role involves predicting potential future attacks and devising effective defenses against them. The Cyber Security Engineer will engage in planning and implementing threat reduction measures and identity management. This includes conducting comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments of both planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. The role also entails performing systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews, as well as assessing security events to determine their impact and implementing corrective actions as needed. In addition, the Cyber Security Engineer will ensure the application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services. The position requires providing guidance on integrating security into the software development life cycle at PEO STRI, configuring and tuning web application firewalls, and conducting architecture and application security design reviews. Adherence to all relevant security, safety, and environmental regulations, rules, and best practices by the Cyber Security Information Assurance (CS IA) Team is also a critical responsibility. The engineer will be tasked with developing and maintaining project plans and work plans as directed by the Technical Authority or Cybersecurity Director.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementation of threat reduction measures and identity management.
  • Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
  • Conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews.
  • Assessing security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensuring the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services.
  • Providing guidance on building security into the software development life cycle.
  • Configuring and tuning web application firewalls.
  • Performing architecture and application security design reviews.
  • Ensuring adherence by the CS IA Team to all relevant security, safety & environmental regulations, rules, and good practices.
  • Developing and maintaining Project Plan(s) and Work plans, as directed by the Technical Authority/Cybersecurity Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in identity management.
  • Five years of related experience in cybersecurity.
  • Experience with Microsoft 0365, Microsoft Project, and GitLab.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Logical and efficient with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • An IAT II Certification is required to start.
  • A Secret Clearance is required to start.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ACAS, McAfee Antivirus, Mac OSX, JAMF.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Knowledge of Public/Private Cybersecurity Policies and Regulations.
  • Experience in secure application development/sustainment.
  • Familiarity with OWASP.
