About the position

Join BAE Systems as a cybersecurity professional, where you will support and protect critical information systems essential to national security. This role offers hands-on experience in Information Assurance (IA) within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, focusing on compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ensuring the security of classified systems. You will collaborate with seasoned professionals and contribute to the development of top cyber technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support adherence to Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance programs as per NISPOM/DAAPM, JSIG, ICD 503, STIGs, and NIST publications.
  • Obtain and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals for various systems by following RMF guidelines.
  • Develop and manage System Security documentation, Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and assess systems security controls.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring of security controls and ensure compliance with security authority requirements.
  • Coordinate security-related activities with information security architects and other security personnel.
  • Provide oversight for classified systems compliance and execute a self-inspection program.
  • Ensure all security certification and accreditation documents for classified systems are current.
  • Review and create mitigation reports from compliance and vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Conduct audits and certify compliance of various systems including Windows, Linux, and network devices.

Requirements

  • IAM Level II certification as per DoD 8570.1M requirements.
  • Experience as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or relevant cybersecurity experience.
  • Strong personal motivation and initiative to learn and adapt to a changing security environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to interface with various security disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience running and maintaining an information assurance program for complex efforts.
  • Knowledge of system functions, security policies, and operational security measures.
  • Experience with conducting self-inspections and system audits.
  • Prepared incident reports based on analysis methodology and results.
  • Familiarity with new and emerging IT and cybersecurity technologies.
