About the position

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security professional to join our internal consultation team in Columbus, Ohio. The role involves engaging with various business units to provide cyber security input and advice on diverse topics, with the primary goal of helping the organization make informed decisions related to cyber security risks in new projects, cloud applications, compliance certifications, data governance laws, third party risk management, and contract reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on various cyber security topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with new and upcoming technology/projects, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and tolerance, including third party risk management.
  • Assist in recommendations and advise on best practices for securing cloud configurations and infrastructure.
  • Guide the organization in achieving and maintaining certifications such as ISO 27001 and ensure compliance with new data governance laws.
  • Assist in developing and updating cyber security policies and procedures to address emerging threats and trends.
  • Effectively communicate complex security concepts to a wide range of stakeholders and build strong working relationships across the business.
  • Generate meaningful/actionable reports for the business based on data collected by various cyber security systems.
  • Contribute to incident response planning and management, ensuring minimal impact on business operations during security events.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of total experience in IT, with at least 3 years focused on Cyber Security or Risk Management.
  • Fundamental knowledge of cloud security (Azure), risk management frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001/2), and IT governance best practices (COBIT, COSO).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, CCSP, or similar.
