About the position

The Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst at Regions is responsible for the daily operational monitoring of security events and alerts from various sources, including SIEM and IDS/IPS tools. This role involves investigating security incidents, remediating threats, and coordinating with different teams for incident response. The analyst contributes to the continuous improvement of the SOC and maintains accurate records and documentation related to security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and alerts from multiple sources including SIEM and IDS/IPS tools.
• Investigate security incidents and either remediate or escalate as necessary.
• Provide accurate and priority-driven analysis to detect and respond to security threats.
• Coordinate with business units and technology teams for incident response and remediation.
• Maintain accurate records for all security cases and incidents.
• Create and communicate documentation, processes, and reports related to security operations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the SOC and Information Security practices.
• Develop technical skills to enhance knowledge of key Information Security controls.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six years of related experience in Information Security or Information Technology.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Experience with UNIX and research skills.
• Mid-level knowledge in Information Security and analysis skills.
• Familiarity with IDS, risk management, IT, SIEM, and threat intelligence.

Nice-to-haves

• Subject matter expertise in areas such as Windows, UNIX, firewalls, and networking.
• Experience with SIEM systems.
• Experience working in a Security Operations Center environment.
