About the position

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting USCYBERCOM's internal command IT systems and the broader enterprise, which includes unique cyberspace operations systems. As a key contributor, you will design, develop, and implement advanced analytical and technical methodologies, tools, and policies to ensure a secure cyber environment for our customer organizations. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of security measures, including intrusion detection and prevention, software and system security protection through secure design protocols, reverse engineering, and data assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cybersecurity, with a minimum of ten years of experience in the field. You will apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts to tackle complex problems and provide innovative solutions. Your work will be guided by consultative direction towards long-term targets, and you will provide expert advice and counsel to the organization in your area of expertise. In this position, you will plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures to protect computer networks and information. You will ensure the rigorous application of cybersecurity policies and practices in delivering IT and cybersecurity services. Additionally, you will develop and design security solutions to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information across the enterprise. Your role will also involve identifying and documenting improvements to security controls, developing recommendations to address complex cybersecurity challenges, and guiding the implementation of effective operational structures and processes for a robust cybersecurity program.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.
  • Ensure the rigorous application of cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT and cybersecurity services.
  • Develop and design security solutions to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information throughout the enterprise.
  • Identify, plan, and document improvements to security controls.
  • Develop and document recommendations and courses of action (COAs) to solve complex cybersecurity problems.
  • Develop and interpret cybersecurity requirements and assist in the formulation of cybersecurity/IT plans and operations.
  • Ensure the assessment and implementation of identified computer and network environment fixes as part of the Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management program.
  • Guide the implementation of appropriate operational structures and processes to ensure an effective cybersecurity program.
  • Review System Security Plans (SSP) and solutions.
  • Evaluate and document the effectiveness of solutions implemented to provide the 'CIA Triad'.

Requirements

  • Active Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience with cybersecurity or information assurance.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • One of the following security certifications (active status): CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO - (minimum DoD 8570 IAM Level II Certification).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DoD Cyber Security Service Providers (CSSP) and related activities.
  • Experience with DoD Cybersecurity Policies.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Exposure to AWS (Amazon Web Services), ACAS (Security scanning software), vCenter, WSUS (Windows Server Update Service), and/or STIGs/IAVA.
  • A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use engineering skills to determine a solution.
  • Able to build systems from the ground up - network architecture/systems engineering.
