About the position

The Cyber Portfolio Manager (CPM) at Nordstrom will serve as a product leader within the Cybersecurity Programs Tower of the Cyber & Privacy Organization. This role involves collaborating with business, engineering, and design teams to align cybersecurity product work with the overall technology vision and strategy. The CPM will advocate for cybersecurity product requirements, manage CPO priorities, and ensure effective representation in enterprise planning processes. The position is central to the product ecosystem, allowing the CPM to make decisions and resolve conflicts with leadership support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide well-defined business case goals and create specification clarity for new products.
  • Plan, organize, and manage new product development projects from inception to completion.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support the organization and act as a cybersecurity champion.
  • Identify Business, Engineering, and Product ownership and maintain the CPO Book of Work.
  • Develop strong relationships with business, product counterparts, and technology teams to define cybersecurity products.
  • Develop and defend business cases for new product proposals.
  • Provide cyber technical solutions and strategies aligned with business needs and future roadmaps.
  • Participate in the new product development review process and contribute to deliverables for stage gate decisions.
  • Partner with business, product, and technology teams to understand strategic objectives and technology needs.
  • Set overall cybersecurity product direction for the enterprise to ensure consistency.
  • Continuously improve product management processes and develop contingency plans to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in the Enterprise Planning Group and represent Technology Priorities.
  • Provide feedback to the organizational Portfolio manager regarding shifts in priorities.
  • Schedule, plan, and participate in strategic planning workshops, analyze product solutions, and track progress against strategic plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in product or program management in cyber portfolios or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge in product systems like Aha!, Jira, or related tools.
  • Ability to create and maintain cross-departmental relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to take ownership of decisions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge/certification in Agile Product Management lifecycle is preferred.
  • Knowledge/certification in Certified Product Manager® — AIPMM or Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner™ — AIPMM is preferred.
