About the position

Leidos is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist Mid to join their SMIT program in New Orleans, LA. This role involves ensuring the security and integrity of information systems, focusing on data availability, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. The specialist will support the Navy's IT services program by implementing cybersecurity measures and managing network operations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor security measures for communication systems and networks, ensuring adherence to established security standards and governmental requirements.
  • Develop and execute government-approved security policies, plans, and procedures; implement data network security measures; operate and monitor network intrusion detection and forensic systems.
  • Conduct information security incident handling and support Continuity of Operations Plan/Disaster Recovery (COOP/DR) plans.
  • Operate Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
  • Manage Host Based Security System (HBSS), firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and related security operations.
  • Perform defensive cyber operation duties, ensuring workstation and server compliance with Marine Corps HBSS requirements; identify cybersecurity incidents using various automated tools; operate web application and database firewalls; perform forensics and remedial actions on incidents.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess an active Security+ certification.
  • US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.
