About the position

The Cyber Security Specialist at Booz Allen Hamilton is responsible for developing innovative solutions to complex cyber risk problems and managing the evaluation and accreditation of client systems. This role involves applying technical solutions in virtualized environments, coordinating with various teams to address customer cyber security needs, and leading efforts in network design to balance security with mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative solutions to complex cyber risk problems.
• Manage evaluation and accreditation of client systems.
• Apply technical solutions in virtualized environments.
• Coordinate with various teams to identify the right mix of tools and techniques for cyber security needs.
• Investigate new techniques and move beyond legacy models.
• Lead the team in network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions.

Requirements

• Experience with cyber hardening, vulnerability management, scanning, assessment, or tools.
• Experience with cyber security standards and translating them into usable requirements.
• Knowledge of security technologies and devices such as network firewalls, web proxies, intrusion prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.
• Knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric crypto algorithms, keying materials, PKI certificates, and security life cycle management.
• Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience with complex cybersecurity projects, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with NIST or DoD direct security support.
• Experience with DoD approval processes and requirements.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8570 Level I Certification.
