About the position

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) position at BAE Systems involves providing engineering services for network infrastructure and enterprise computing systems to support a key government customer. The role focuses on ensuring the security and accreditation of various projects within the customer's organization, requiring extensive experience in cybersecurity and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the customer's Division level A&A projects across various branches.
  • Document security control implementations and gather artifacts for Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ICD 503 Security Accreditation.
  • Write Systems Security Plans (SSP) and other A&A related documents such as Contingency Plans and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Coordinate with contractor and staff personnel to obtain A&A content and navigate the customer's A&A process.
  • Track the status of A&A projects and manage re-submissions for accreditation or extensions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of experience in Cybersecurity Systems Engineering.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience in ISSE support.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of complex network environments and security enclaves.
  • Ability to translate technical implementation into understandable security documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous ISSE or ISSO experience directly supporting the customer.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Greenlight, Rapid 7, and Splunk.
  • Experience with public, private, and hybrid Cloud environments (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
  • Basic knowledge of Cloud security control implementation and vulnerability management.
  • CISSP or GSLCAWS Certified Security Specialty.
