About the position

The Cyber Software Engineering, Senior Advisor role focuses on implementing, testing, and operating advanced software security techniques in alignment with technical reference architecture. The position involves ongoing security testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and providing engineering designs for new software solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities. The advisor will also contribute to architectural levels and maintain technical documentation while consulting team members on secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, test, and operate advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture.
  • Perform ongoing security testing and code reviews to improve software security.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise in software applications.
  • Provide engineering designs for new software solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to all levels of the architecture and maintain technical documentation.
  • Consult team members on secure coding practices.
  • Develop familiarity with new tools and best practices.

Requirements

  • Twenty (20) years' experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of six (6) years demonstrated experience developing production software.
  • Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful Services.
  • Familiarity with cloud development techniques, resources, and tools.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required.
  • Experience in agile software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, problem diagnosis/resolution, and source code management practices & tools.
  • Experience developing software with high-level languages such as Java, C, C++ for distributed systems, with proficiency in networking, multi-threading, and implementation of REST APIs.
  • Experience with the Spring framework, messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ), streaming analytics (Apache Flink, Spark), and management of containerized applications (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with enabling tools (Git, Maven, Jira), DevOps (Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI/Pipelines), and Continuous Monitoring (ELK Stack, Nagios).
  • Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo, and Apache NiFi.
  • Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, BASH, etc.).
  • Experience with AWS Cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud security, and Automation (AWS Lambda, CloudFormation).
