About the position

The Cyber Systems Engineer, Advisor role involves monitoring, analyzing, and detecting cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks. The position requires the establishment of a framework for measuring cyber risk, implementation of security systems, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The engineer will also be responsible for the design and integration of DoD IA architectures and systems, ensuring their functionality and security.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision.
  • Assist with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinating and maintaining security toolsets to support continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
  • Establish a framework for measuring and quantifying cyber risk in the marketplace.
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses, and preparing cost estimates.
  • Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, directing installation and calibration, and providing technical support.
  • Verify security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
  • Maintain security by ensuring compliance with standards, conducting incident response analyses, and developing training programs.
  • Design, develop, implement, and integrate DoD IA architectures and systems for computing, network, and enclave environments.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required.
  • Experience in developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems.
  • Experience in developing technical documentation for issues and/or training.
  • Experience using agile and/or spiral development models.
  • Ten (10) years' experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
