About the position

As a Cyber Systems Engineer at Peraton, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, analyzing, and detecting cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks. This position involves assisting with integrated cyber defense, maintaining security toolsets, and establishing frameworks for measuring cyber risk. You will also be responsible for implementing security systems, verifying their effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with security standards and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision.
  • Assist with integrated, dynamic cyber defense and maintain security toolsets for continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
  • Establish a framework for measuring and quantifying cyber risk in the marketplace.
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies, researching information security standards, and conducting system security and vulnerability analyses.
  • Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, directing installation and calibration, and preparing preventive and reactive measures.
  • Verify security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
  • Maintain security by ensuring compliance with standards, conducting incident response analyses, and developing training programs.
  • Design, develop, implement, and integrate DoD IA architectures, systems, or components for computing, network, and enclave environments.

Requirements

  • Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
  • Experience providing technical direction for the development, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Experience developing concepts of operation and interface standards, system architectures, and conducting system requirements reviews.
  • Experience in developing technical documentation for issues and/or training.
