About the position

As a Cyber Systems Security Engineer in the Program Protection Organization at Lockheed Martin, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of Anti-Tamper and embedded Cybersecurity across Missiles and Fire Control. This position is integral to ensuring the security and integrity of Department of Defense (DoD) Weapon Systems throughout their development life cycle. You will be responsible for providing embedded System Security Engineering design and implementation, focusing on the System Security Engineering (SSE) process. Your work will involve assessing and mitigating security threats and risks, validating security requirements, and implementing effective security solutions for both hardware and software components. In this role, you will design, implement, deploy, and maintain advanced System Security architectures and countermeasures to protect Lockheed Martin's innovative products. You will analyze potential weaknesses and vulnerabilities in product designs and prototype security countermeasures to defend against cyber-attacks. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that all security requirements are verified and that the systems developed meet stringent DoD compliance standards. Responsibilities

  • Assessing and mitigating System Security threats/risks throughout the embedded Weapon System development life cycle
  • Validating System Security Engineering requirements decomposition, allocation and analysis for embedded Weapon Systems
  • Implementing System Security Engineering solutions hardware and software
  • Verifying implementation of system security requirements
  • Designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining state of the art System Security architectures and countermeasures
  • Analyzing weaknesses, vulnerabilities and threats against System Security posture on product designs
  • Prototyping and testing System Security countermeasures that defend against cyber-attacks against Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Weapon System products

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to beginning employment
  • Experience working within the DoD systems development life-cycle (SDLC)
  • Implementing System Security requirements on DoD systems to meet U.S. government compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting validation and verification of security requirements on DoD systems
  • Possess an approved DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT/IAM Level II (CISSP, CAP, etc.) or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing embedded DoD National Security Systems (NSS) requiring Systems Security Engineering implementations
  • Design experience through the DoD systems development life-cycle (SDLC) developing embedded system security solutions for DoD weapon or tactical systems
  • Tactical as well as strategic thinking and creative problem solving
  • Experience with embedded systems design
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience with embedded system vulnerability scanning and Software Assurance (SwA) activities
  • Strong understanding of System Security Engineering (SSE) principals and process (NIST SP 800-161)
  • Experience in the identification, decomposition, allocation and verification of NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls on DoD systems
  • Experience in supporting Security Verification testing on developed DoD Weapon Systems
