About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst position at Alliant Health Solutions is a critical role responsible for enhancing the cybersecurity posture of healthcare providers within the QIN-QIO region. This position is contingent upon contract award and involves a comprehensive approach to assessing and improving cybersecurity programs. The analyst will assist providers in evaluating their cybersecurity vulnerabilities and developing effective mitigation strategies using tools from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). This role requires collaboration with external cybersecurity experts to provide resources that help mitigate cybersecurity gaps and respond to incidents effectively. In this role, the Cybersecurity Analyst will guide and provide technical assistance for the implementation of cybersecurity assessments, training, and mitigation strategies. They will ensure that provider systems are thoroughly assessed for vulnerabilities and that appropriate strategies are developed to address these issues. The analyst will also provide subject matter expertise in areas such as Emergency Preparedness responses, CMS defined Advancing Healthcare Quality through Technology (AHQT) Readiness Assessments, and the evaluation of automated devices used for patient safety and monitoring. The position involves engaging with providers through various communication channels, including email, phone calls, virtual meetings, webinars, and onsite technical assistance. The analyst will communicate cybersecurity best practices and act as a resource for targeted providers. Additionally, they will work closely with the management team to develop and implement action plans aimed at reducing risks and ensuring follow-through with corrective actions. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary team members is essential to advance healthcare technology across acute care, long-term care, and outpatient settings. The analyst will also be responsible for documenting all provider interventions and activities in Salesforce Health Cloud or other approved systems, and will engage with regional, local, state, and federal partners to assist with Focused Quality Services (FQS) or other customer requests.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers in assessing their cybersecurity programs and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with external cybersecurity experts to provide resources for mitigating cybersecurity gaps.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in cybersecurity, including Emergency Preparedness responses and CMS defined AHQT Readiness Assessments.
  • Engage with providers through various communication mechanisms to communicate cybersecurity best practices.
  • Work with management to develop and implement action plans to reduce risks and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members to advance healthcare technology in various care settings.
  • Record all provider interventions and activities in Salesforce Health Cloud or other approved systems.
  • Provide cybersecurity assistance, recommendations, and feedback for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience in technical roles such as systems security, solutions architecture, or software engineering.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry with a strong understanding of medical records and health data security regulations.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role involving frequent communication with individuals of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of utilizing and exchanging PHI/PII data using various frameworks, protocols, and products.
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize time effectively and coordinate projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cybersecurity related certification(s) such as CISSP or CISM.
  • Master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
