About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst and Program Manager at Baylor School is a senior role responsible for overseeing the institution's enterprise cybersecurity program. This includes managing daily security operations, developing cyber programs, and providing leadership in cybersecurity initiatives. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic oversight, ensuring the security of the school's data and systems while also educating staff and students on cybersecurity best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the enterprise cybersecurity strategy and procedures.
  • Create and oversee the System Security Plan (SSP) and similar enterprise documents.
  • Establish and maintain policies, standards, and security baselines.
  • Manage the IT Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Stay updated on the current cyber threat landscape and best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Lead the IT vulnerability management program and oversee vulnerability assessments and audits.
  • Conduct cyber investigations and perform regular threat hunting activities.
  • Manage and configure the enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • Perform risk assessments for compliance and new solutions prior to deployment.
  • Present cybersecurity program updates to the CIO, IT Team, and School Leadership.
  • Supervise security awareness training for students and employees.

Requirements

  • College diploma, university degree, or 5 years of directly relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a cybersecurity analyst or in a similar role.
  • Experience in security architecture, policy development, and vulnerability management.
  • Proficiency in threat hunting, log analysis, and SIEM management.
  • Understanding of compliance, legal, or regulatory frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a cybersecurity analyst or in a similar role.
  • Certifications such as GIAC Security Essentials, ISACA Certified Information Security Manager, or (ISC)2 CISSP.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel, or Next Generation Firewall.
  • Practical experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
  • Experience in educational environments, especially K-12 or Higher Education.
