About the position

Ellumen is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst, Expert to join our dedicated team of IT professionals in providing Enterprise Security Architecture Support (ESA) to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information and Technology (OI&T), Office of Information Security (OIS). This role is critical in supporting the development and maintenance of ESA artifacts, providing administrative engineering support, and facilitating the enterprise-wide use of the VA ESA. Our mission is to continuously evolve the VA's information security program to address existing deficiencies, align with the growing and evolving cybersecurity threat landscape, and minimize risks associated with the adoption of new technologies. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be responsible for performing detailed analysis and research on complex problems and processes related to cybersecurity. You will provide recommendations and processes for implementing improvements that advance the development of both legacy and new health IT digital architectures. Participation in required meetings for project status updates and demonstrations will be essential, as will the development of long-term cybersecurity strategies. Your role will also involve analyzing and recommending new and emerging security approaches and technologies to enhance the VA's information security program. The successful candidate will be expected to adapt to a dynamic environment and may be required to perform additional tasks as needed, ensuring that the VA's cybersecurity measures are robust and effective against current and future threats.

Responsibilities

  • Performing analysis and research of complex problems and processes relating to cybersecurity.
  • Provide recommendations and processes for implementing improvements to advance the development of legacy and new health IT digital architectures.
  • Participate in required meetings for project status and demonstrations.
  • Develop long-term cybersecurity strategies.
  • Evolve the VA's information security program to address existing deficiencies and minimize risks from new technologies.
  • Analyze and recommend new and emerging security approaches and technologies.

Requirements

  • Expertise in IT with Cyber Security Policy and threat mitigation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Cyber Security tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, Public Key Infrastructure, and secured networks.
  • Expertise in developing long-term strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge about various cyber threats and their mitigation.
  • Minimum Education Level: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
  • Minimum Experience: 15 years or a minimum of 12 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain federal clearance.
