About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the maintenance and operation of various cybersecurity measures and software. The role involves monitoring security systems, providing support to end-users, and ensuring protection against cyber threats. The analyst will conduct risk assessments, document security policies, and assist in incident response activities while developing competence through structured work assignments under the guidance of experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the cyber portion of tickets and workflow.
  • Monitor cyber email for intake.
  • Prepare assessments and other documents.
  • Research topics as they arise.
  • Monitor security systems for possible intrusion.
  • Assist with risk assessments.
  • Interact with end users concerning malware, spam, vulnerabilities, and other cybersecurity issues.
  • Review and create audit reports on user and system activities.
  • Actively probe the network for new threats and risks.
  • Document, deploy, review, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Monitor security alerts on the internet and other intelligence feeds to assess potential impacts on IT or operational technology systems.
  • Implement and administer technical security systems including SIEM, VAT, network IDS, antivirus, web and email filters, and firewalls.
  • Ensure technical security compliance with NERC, PCI, FBI CJIS, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support cybersecurity incident response activities.
  • Document and maintain objective evidence for NERC CIP regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical consulting to other groups on security requirements as needed.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience in cybersecurity or relevant experience.
  • A degree in information technology, computer science, or a relevant field may substitute for certain years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • CISSP, GIAC, or similar certification.
  • Experience with Rapid 7.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
