About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst II - Vulnerability Assessment Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify potential risks and threats to the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance security measures, implement remediation strategies, and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, particularly under DCWF 541. The candidate must hold a Secret Clearance and meet DOD 8140 certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments on network systems, applications, and databases to identify potential security weaknesses.
  • Analyze and interpret vulnerability scan results, providing detailed reports and recommending remediation actions to mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with IT and development teams to prioritize and address identified vulnerabilities, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Perform continuous monitoring of IT systems to detect, assess, and respond to potential security threats.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and best practices in line with DOD 8140 standards.
  • Participate in incident response activities, helping to investigate and remediate security breaches and incidents.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to recommend and implement improvements in security posture.
  • Collaborate with other cybersecurity analysts to ensure alignment with organizational goals and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to management on security findings, remediation progress, and overall security posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on vulnerability assessments and threat analysis.
  • Must meet DOD 8140 certification requirements, such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a federal or defense contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with penetration testing methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud security practices and tools.
