The Cybersecurity Analyst II at Baptist Health Care plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's computer assets by establishing and documenting access protocols and maintaining security files. This position collaborates with end users to facilitate system access through a proper service request system, ensuring that documentation is in place for timely access to team members, vendors, and temporary staff. The analyst is responsible for promptly removing access in cases of immediate termination, resignation, or the conclusion of a contract period. Additionally, the role involves maintaining security files by processing and filing computer security forms and documentation, as well as upgrading and maintaining systems by implementing and enforcing security controls. The analyst keeps users informed by preparing performance reports and communicating system status effectively. The Cybersecurity Analyst II is also tasked with maintaining quality service by adhering to organizational standards and contributing to team efforts to achieve related results. This includes performing periodic system account audits and conducting physical security walkthroughs and documentation. The analyst utilizes enterprise security tools and applies knowledge of industry frameworks to assess and manage security across various levels, including perimeter, network, endpoint, application, and data. They review existing systems and study emerging threats and vulnerabilities to ensure the organization remains secure. The role requires evaluating systems for vulnerabilities, determining risk levels, and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies. In addition to these responsibilities, the Cybersecurity Analyst II manages and coordinates activities related to the installation, maintenance, fixes, and upgrades of security systems, collaborating with internal resources and vendors. They identify vulnerable assets, prioritize them for remediation, and respond to incidents affecting information systems. The analyst solicits feedback, performs project-based risk assessments, and assists the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in completing risk assessment action plans. They are expected to educate staff through presentations and conduct phishing awareness campaigns and training sessions. The position demands a higher level of independence in managing work priorities compared to the Cybersecurity Analyst I role, and may involve providing guidance to junior staff or delegating tasks as necessary. Furthermore, the analyst supports security configurations of various systems and makes recommendations for best practices based on research and testing.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, or Cybersecurity, or a High School Diploma with five years of related experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a 24/7 environment.
  • Ability to follow defined processes and procedures.
  • Extensive understanding of enterprise computer hardware, systems, infrastructure, and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to document work in an ITSM or similar ticketing system.
