About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst at GM Financial is responsible for executing a portion of the Cybersecurity Program aimed at managing Cybersecurity risk. This role involves organizing information, enabling risk management decisions, and addressing threats to ensure the security of company systems and information assets. The analyst will contribute to comprehensive security initiatives, collaborate with internal and external groups, and develop partnerships across the enterprise to protect company information assets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update Cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures referencing NIST 800-53 controls and the NIST Cyber Security Framework.
  • Manage audit processes and track remediation items to completion.
  • Collaborate with business partners to address Cybersecurity needs.
  • Develop security requirements to protect the company from threats.
  • Document and report policy or procedure discrepancies and change requests.
  • Promote Cybersecurity within the organization and monitor adherence to policies and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in a large and complex business environment, preferably working with senior management.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Access Control, Telecom and Network Security, Cybersecurity Governance, Risk Management, or related domains.
  • 3+ years of experience in Banking or Financial Services with a focus on Cybersecurity Risk Management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong technical writing skills and Information Security Certifications are preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced knowledge of the OSI model and associated security concepts.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and concepts.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Knowledge of IT security processes and controls.
