About the position

By Light Professional IT Services LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, and the Local Network Enterprise Center (LNEC) at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. This position involves providing comprehensive support for both classified and unclassified communication systems. The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for Site Management, Infrastructure Operation and Maintenance (O&M), Unified Communications, Customer Service Telephone, and various other technical support functions. The role requires a strong focus on cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) policies and standards, and providing Tier II Customer Support. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 0700 to 1700, excluding Federal holidays, with an 8-hour workday expected. The Cybersecurity Analyst will analyze technical problems related to information assurance and provide effective resolutions. This includes supporting the Government Capability Manager and Information System Owner in configuring information systems according to DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other cybersecurity requirements. The analyst will also assist in ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including DoDI 8500.01 and DoDI 8510.01, and will be involved in the independent assessment of information systems against DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards. In addition to compliance activities, the Cybersecurity Analyst will provide technical input on RMF Assess Only submissions and contribute to the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) by recording RMF activities and implementing applicable security controls as identified through information system security categorization. The role may also involve reviewing operational Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Operations Orders (OPORDs) to ensure adherence to established practices. Other duties may be assigned as required, making this a dynamic and integral role within the cybersecurity team.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze general information assurance-related technical problems and provide resolutions.
  • Support the Government Capability Manager/Information System Owner (ISO) in ensuring that information systems are configured according to DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Support compliance with DoD cybersecurity policy requirements set forth in DoDI 8500.01 and DoDI 8510.01.
  • Provide support for the independent assessment of compliance of information systems with DoD RMF standards.
  • Comply with practices identified in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Knowledge Service.
  • Review and ensure RMF activities adhere to operational Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Operations Orders (OPORDs).
  • Provide technical input on RMF Assess Only submissions.
  • Provide input to the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) to record RMF activities and control implementation of applicable Security Controls.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Possess an associate's degree or higher.
  • Foundational Personnel Certification: CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CyberSec First Responder (CFR), CompTIA Cloud+, Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC).
  • Minimum of three years' experience supporting DoD cybersecurity policy requirements and RMF activities.
  • Extensive experience with DoD security hardening, collection and assessment tools (STIGs, ACAS, SCAP, Nessus, etc.).
  • Experience with security architectures, firewalls, and network access.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, including technical terms commonly used in IT.
