About the position

ARES is seeking an experienced cybersecurity analyst to support the Nation's ballistic missile defense program. The role involves conducting research, analysis, and data gathering activities while performing threat, vulnerability, and capability maturity assessments. The analyst will apply critical thinking, conduct gap analyses, and develop implementation plans to enhance cybersecurity in large, complex defense systems. Multiple levels of this position are available, ranging from junior to senior.

Responsibilities

• Conduct threat, vulnerability, and capability maturity assessments.
• Perform research, analysis, and data gathering activities.
• Apply critical thinking to develop implementation plans for cybersecurity improvements.
• Conduct gap analyses to identify areas for enhancement in cybersecurity practices.
• Support key cybersecurity activities including vulnerability assessments and control development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Cybersecurity certification such as CCNA-Security, Security+ CE, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, or CISSM.
• Proficient in technical services and analysis with knowledge of cybersecurity standards, principles, practices, and processes.
• Experience supporting key cybersecurity activities including vulnerability assessments, control development, security plan documentation, penetration testing, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Nessus, Burp Suite, Nmap, ACAS, and others.
