About the position

As a Principal Cybersecurity Analyst at Cornerstone Defense, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our nation's most sensitive information and systems. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph, reflecting the high level of trust and responsibility associated with the role. You will be part of a dedicated team that leverages industry-leading knowledge to provide comprehensive cybersecurity solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by the Intelligence, Defense, and Space sectors of the U.S. Government. Your expertise will be essential in identifying vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance, and implementing robust security measures across various computing environments. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing technical security assessments, identifying points of vulnerability, and ensuring that all systems meet compliance standards. You will implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, supporting and documenting certification and accreditation artifacts. Your experience in the Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) process will be crucial as you work to secure system accreditation and maintain the integrity of our cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud infrastructure, particularly with AWS, and have a solid understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems. You will also be expected to contribute to curriculum development and technical writing, enhancing the knowledge base of our team and ensuring that best practices are communicated effectively. Your leadership skills will be vital as you guide less experienced team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance.
  • Implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and support documentation of certification and accreditation artifacts.
  • Support the Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) process for system accreditation.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and technical writing to enhance team knowledge.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in cybersecurity.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Experience in reviewing technical security assessments and identifying vulnerabilities.
  • Experience implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Experience supporting the A&A process for system accreditation.

Nice-to-haves

  • CISSP, CASP, or other IT security-related certifications.
  • Experience using Rapid 7 or Tenable Nessus applications.
  • Background in Technical Writing or Instructional Systems Design.
  • Privileged/Power-user level knowledge in Microsoft Windows, Enterprise Linux, or cloud computing infrastructure like AWS or Microsoft Azure.
