About the position

As a Cybersecurity Analyst at Booz Allen, you will provide subject matter expertise in various cybersecurity areas, including Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidance, Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E), system vulnerability assessments, and compliance support for Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Your role will involve supporting system A&A efforts through cyber risk assessments, policy analysis, technology evaluations, and validation of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security controls. You will assist in designing, implementing, and managing policies and procedures to ensure the security of databases and software systems. This position requires applying specific functional knowledge, including both working and general industry knowledge, to develop or contribute to solutions for a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. You will work independently with some guidance and may review or guide the activities of more junior employees. In this role, you will leverage your experience in cybersecurity to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will be responsible for writing final-version deliverable technical documents and reports, and you will need to have a strong understanding of system security configurations to meet compliance standards. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance and a high school diploma or GED, along with a DoD 8140 Certification, including Security+, CYSA+, or CISSP Certification. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with cloud technologies and DevSecOps, and you will gain experience with security tools and devices such as network firewalls, web proxies, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in cybersecurity areas including DoD RMF guidance and ST&E.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity field, including information assurance, networking, or systems administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with RMF A&A processes and cybersecurity engineering.
  • Experience applying system security configurations to meet compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and implementation of industry best practices.
  • Ability to write final-version deliverable technical documents and reports.
  • TS/SCI clearance required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • DoD 8140 Certification, including Security+, CYSA+, or CISSP Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cloud and DevSecOps.
  • Experience working with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Experience with security tools and devices, including network firewalls, web proxies, and intrusion prevention systems.
