About the position

The IT Security Analyst at Shockwave Medical is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring security tools and resources to protect the company's infrastructure, data, and network. This role involves coordinating security functions, collaborating with senior leadership, and addressing security and compliance challenges to support business operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security operations tools and resources, coordinating with SOC on alerts and findings.
  • Assist in the implementation of new security technologies and optimize existing ones.
  • Provide recommendations to operational IT teams and business units on information security activities and best practices.
  • Stay informed about new and emerging information technology trends, including IAM solutions and endpoint protection technologies.
  • Perform periodic and on-demand system and vulnerability assessments related to third-party risk management.
  • Develop and maintain Information Security Awareness training documentation and materials.
  • Coordinate with enterprise risk management for appropriate impact analyses.
  • Maintain understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, GLBA, and PCI assessments through audit tests and controls reviews.
  • Understand technical control testing aligned with NIST CSF and COBIT.
  • Maintain knowledge of OS and domain structures, servers, services, and associated vulnerabilities.
  • Understand network engineering and LAN/WAN technologies and topologies.
  • Maintain knowledge of cloud deployments and associated risk considerations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of IT or Information Security experience.
  • Security certifications (Sec+, CySA+, CASP+, etc.) or willingness to obtain them.
  • Knowledge of EDR, Email Security, DLP, and other security technologies.
  • Familiarity with physical security control systems (badging, door lock controls, camera systems) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC1/2 auditing, and associated requirements.
  • Familiarity/experience with FDA and SOX regulated environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to operate as a team and/or independently with flexibility to changing requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with physical security control systems (badging, door lock controls, camera systems).
  • Knowledge of emerging information technology trends.
