About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst at Digital Consultants will support the Norfolk Naval Shipyard CIO department, focusing on enhancing network security and ensuring compliance with Information Assurance (IA) policies. This role involves managing network security systems, conducting risk assessments, and developing incident response strategies to protect Navy Fleet readiness and secure operations.

Responsibilities

• Generate an assessment framework for IA documentation and policy improvements.
• Interpret IA policy requirements and evaluate insider threat mitigation processes.
• Provide oversight for IT network security hardware and software management.
• Perform network enhancement, system design, and security testing.
• Assist in developing a rapid incident response system for security attacks.
• Implement and manage network security systems including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Support the assessment and authorization (A&A) process for network security compliance.
• Analyze complex security issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage secure VPN access and review security logs.
• Support continuity planning for ongoing operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline and at least four years of relevant experience, or nine years of relevant experience.
• Secret clearance required.
• Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) DoD 8570 IAT Level II qualifications required.
• CISSP certification desired.
• Minimum of four years of experience in CS/A&A analysis support, including risk assessments and contingency planning.
• Expert knowledge of CS requirements as defined by federal and DoD guidance.
