About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst will support the Cybersecurity Division's Governance team for unclassified operations, focusing on implementing cybersecurity requirements and procedures across the IT network. This role is essential for safeguarding critical infrastructure and protecting sensitive information while promoting collaboration and adherence to best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, review, and updating of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments, participating in incident response activities.
• Support the delivery of cybersecurity training and awareness programs.
• Maintain accurate records of cybersecurity activities and prepare reports for senior management.
• Conduct security assessments and ensure effective data protection measures.
• Participate in Governance group meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity assessments, risk management, or compliance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience implementing compliance frameworks such as NIST.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations including NIST 800-53 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Nice-to-haves

• Active DOE Q or TS security clearance or equivalent.
• Master's degree in information assurance or related field with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, SSCP).
• Experience in obtaining Authority to Operate (ATO) for DOE government systems.
