About the position

Alliant Health Solutions is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team, a role that is contingent on contract award. This position is crucial in assisting healthcare providers in assessing their cybersecurity programs, implementing education and mitigation strategies, and utilizing existing tools from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). The Cybersecurity Analyst will coordinate with external cybersecurity experts to provide resources to mitigate cybersecurity gaps and respond to incidents, while also offering subject matter expertise to the QIN-QIO department. In this role, the Cybersecurity Analyst will guide and provide technical assistance to support the implementation of cybersecurity assessments, training, and mitigation strategies across the QIN-QIO region. The analyst will ensure that provider and practitioner systems are assessed for vulnerabilities and that effective mitigation strategies are developed. Responsibilities include providing expertise related to cybersecurity, including Emergency Preparedness responses, conducting CMS defined Advancing Healthcare Quality through Technology (AHQT) Readiness Assessments, and evaluating automated devices used for patient safety and monitoring. The Cybersecurity Analyst will engage with providers through various communication methods, including email, phone calls, virtual meetings, webinars, and onsite technical assistance, to effectively communicate best practices and act as a resource for targeted providers. Collaboration with the management team to develop and implement action plans to reduce risks and ensure follow-through with corrective actions is also a key responsibility. The analyst will work closely with multi-disciplinary team members to advance healthcare technology in various care settings and serve as a technical lead in healthcare cybersecurity. Additionally, the Cybersecurity Analyst will facilitate education on existing resources from the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) for cybersecurity training and readiness. All provider interventions and activities will be recorded in Salesforce Health Cloud or other approved systems. The role also involves engaging with regional, local, state, and federal partners, as well as other stakeholders, to respond to customer requests and provide cybersecurity assistance and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and provide technical assistance for cybersecurity assessments, training, and mitigation strategies across the QIN-QIO region.
  • Assess provider/practitioner systems for cybersecurity vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to cybersecurity, including Emergency Preparedness responses and CMS defined AHQT Readiness Assessments.
  • Evaluate automated devices used for patient safety and monitoring, and diagnostic tools related to AI/ML.
  • Engage with providers through various communication mechanisms to communicate cybersecurity best practices.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement action plans to reduce risks and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary team members to advance healthcare technology in various care settings.
  • Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert in healthcare cybersecurity.
  • Facilitate education on existing resources for cybersecurity training and readiness.
  • Record all provider interventions and activities in Salesforce Health Cloud or other approved systems.
  • Engage with regional, local, state, and federal partners to assist with customer requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience in technical roles such as systems security, solutions architecture, or software engineering.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry with a strong understanding of medical records and health data security regulations.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role involving frequent communication with individuals of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and ability to work independently and use sound judgment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with a team.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize time and coordinate projects effectively.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and Power BI or similar applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cybersecurity related certification(s) such as CISSP or CISM.
  • Master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
