About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst position at Finezi involves delivering critical information security services, including threat assessment, security event monitoring, and vulnerability management. The role is part of the Monitoring & Response Team, which operates 24/7 to prevent, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events, thereby enhancing the organization's security posture. Cyber Threat Specialists in this role utilize various tools and processes to address active threats and produce metrics that support broader security initiatives within PG&E.

Responsibilities

• Monitors daily cybersecurity activity in shifts to determine if activity is malignant or benign and engages others as required.
• Provides analysis on malware and escalates issues to incident response teams as appropriate.
• Conducts baseline threat hunting based on intelligence for utility peers and other intelligence sources.
• Performs hunting and analysis on phishing cases and reports of potential compromise or breach.
• Conducts proficient forensic analysis using security tools and monitoring systems to discover the source of anomalous security events.
• Assists in performing basic research internally and externally.
• Performs complex system administration tasks for security tools, including customization and cross-tool integration.
• Develops a strategy to implement work within the department.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience in IT and Information Security is required.
• Strong analysis skills and experience in vulnerability management are essential.
• IT Security certification is desired.
