About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst position involves ensuring the security and privacy of systems by implementing and assessing security controls based on NIST standards. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to document and communicate security measures effectively. The candidate will work in a hybrid environment, requiring in-office presence once a week, and will be responsible for various aspects of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Responsibilities

  • Document the implementation of security controls and assess their effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation.
  • Implement NIST SP 800-53, Rev. 5 Controls and assess NIST SP 800-53A Test Cases.
  • Assist System Owners/System Teams in documenting security controls within the Security System Plan (SSP).
  • Facilitate and lead Contingency Plan Tests and Incident Response Tests, creating After Action Reports (AAR).
  • Plan for Security Control Assessments (SCAs) and prepare Security Assessment Plans (SAPs).
  • Document results in Security Assessment Reports (SAR).
  • Manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity, particularly with NIST standards.
  • Possession of at least one Cybersecurity-related certification (e.g., CGRC).
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possession of CISSP, CISA, and/or CISM certifications.
  • Experience supporting Federal Civilian agencies.
