About the position

The Cybersecurity Compliance Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the cybersecurity posture of internal systems at Sabel Systems Technology Solutions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, particularly in the context of DoD contracts. This role involves managing DIBCAC High audits, implementing cybersecurity programs in line with CMMC requirements, and providing hands-on system administration support. The engineer will also conduct risk assessments, manage SIEM tools, and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a robust security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the cybersecurity posture of internal systems and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Lead and manage the execution of DIBCAC High audits for DoD contracts.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity programs in compliance with CMMC requirements.
  • Manage, configure, and operate SIEM tools to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents.
  • Provide hands-on system administration support to implement security measures across IT systems.
  • Conduct continuous risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response activities in line with NIST standards.
  • Maintain and improve compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet cybersecurity and compliance benchmarks.
  • Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity threats and evolving regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance on cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ISSM/ISSE or similar role, preferably in a DoD or defense contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of DIBCAC High audit requirements and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with CMMC compliance, including implementation and assessment.
  • Proficiency in using SIEM tools for monitoring, analysis, and response.
  • Hands-on experience in system administration, with the ability to implement and manage security controls.
  • Deep knowledge of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CMMC Assessor are highly desirable.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) in a secure and compliant manner.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft Sentinel SIEM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its application in the DoD environment.
