About the position

The Cybersecurity Consultant for NG 9-1-1 and 988 Networks & Systems is responsible for assessing and enhancing the security of emergency communication networks. This role focuses on infrastructure and network security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis, particularly within the context of Next Generation 9-1-1 systems and public safety communication technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cybersecurity assessments for NG 9-1-1 systems and related infrastructure.
  • Perform penetration testing and vulnerability analysis to identify security weaknesses.
  • Develop and implement risk assessment strategies for emergency communication networks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cybersecurity measures.
  • Produce detailed reports on security assessments and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on infrastructure and network security assessments.
  • Strong proficiency in penetration testing, risk assessments, and vulnerability scanning.
  • In-depth knowledge of NENA i3 standards and best practices in cybersecurity for emergency communications networks.
  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) and hybrid systems.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CEH.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with systems used in emergency services communications, such as call processing equipment (CPE) and Mobile Dispatch Software (MDS).
  • Familiarity with state and national regulations for cybersecurity in public safety and emergency services.
