About the position

This position is for a Cybersecurity Consultant who will support Federal information system security programs. The consultant will analyze client problems and apply quantitative analytical approaches while communicating effectively and confidently. The role requires the ability to work well in a team environment and to advise clients on cybersecurity and privacy controls and regulations, including NIST Special Publication 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP. The consultant will be responsible for refreshing and establishing cybersecurity policies and procedures, interpreting security control intent, and applying it to various technologies and processes. Additionally, the consultant will assist clients in identifying and mitigating security risks in government cloud environments. Active participation in cybersecurity consulting engagements is expected, working collaboratively with a team and the client to deliver high-quality work. The consultant will also work with multiple stakeholders to understand business needs, concerns, and risks, and will create high-quality presentations and reports to effectively communicate project findings.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client problems and apply quantitative analytical approaches.
  • Advise clients on cybersecurity and privacy controls and regulations such as NIST Special Publication 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
  • Refresh and establish cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Interpret security control intent and apply it to technologies and processes.
  • Assist clients in identifying and mitigating security risks in government cloud environments.
  • Actively participate on cybersecurity consulting engagements working with a team and the client to deliver high-quality work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in cybersecurity risk management, IT audit, or comparable domain.
  • Demonstrated understanding of functional cybersecurity concepts.
  • Familiarity and experience with federal government and commercial clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g. Security+, CISA, CISSP)
  • Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or comparable degree.
  • Experience with managing/supporting and/or knowledge of European Union regulations such as NIS, NIS2, CRA, DORA.
