About the position

The Cybersecurity Data Architect is responsible for integrating and developing standards, processes, tools, technologies, and data security service offerings. This role focuses on leveraging innovative technologies to enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture, improve efficiency, and support growth while balancing security needs with user experience. The position requires strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach, along with expertise in enterprise security architecture and industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and security specialists to ensure adequate data security solutions and controls are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms.
  • Assess and understand the organization's current security posture and future architecture requirements, providing recommendations for improvement and risk reduction.
  • Ensure implemented solutions support cybersecurity architecture objectives and monitor implementation activities to uphold architecture and design principles.
  • Support the implementation of technical artifacts that constitute the enterprise information security architecture and solutions.
  • Serve as a security expert in application development, database design, and network/platform efforts, ensuring compliance with enterprise and security policies.
  • Design data security configuration guidelines for IT devices and systems, and assess compliance within those guidelines.
  • Ensure all data systems meet company and privacy requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation of security policies, access controls, and authentication mechanisms based on data security principles.
  • Evaluate the existing data protection framework to identify compliance issues and rectify them.
  • Manage the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives, coordinating activities with direct responsibility for results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience with internal/external audits or risk management.
  • Familiarity with IT Security management in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their security services.
  • Proficiency in security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
  • Ability to operate as a proactive problem solver with analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of IT processes, management objectives, risk appetite, and tolerances.
  • CISA, CISSP, CRISC, or other relevant certifications are desired.
  • Strong client services orientation and communication skills.
