About the position

The Cybersecurity Engineer position at IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is focused on providing cybersecurity support for a DOD SOCOM opportunity. The role involves developing and implementing security measures to protect computer systems and networks, monitoring and responding to cyber incidents, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies and frameworks. The position requires a strong understanding of DoD-specific cybersecurity standards and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and monitors security measures to protect computer systems, networks, software, and information.
  • Monitors, detects, mitigates, and responds to cyber incidents.
  • Performs operational Cybersecurity and infrastructure support.
  • Implements and enforces cybersecurity policies and requirements.
  • Conducts certification and testing in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST policy.
  • Identifies deficiencies and vulnerabilities and provides risk mitigation recommendations.
  • Integrates projects with the current USSOCOM ICAM, PKI, ABAC, and RBAC capability.
  • Automates security and testing processes, integrating security tools and practices into the development pipeline.
  • Guides teams to break down silos and unify software development, deployment, security, and operations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate's Degree plus 4 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 6 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expertise in monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM systems) and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
  • Strong understanding of DoD-specific cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including RMF, NIST 800-53, and CMMC.
  • Experience with Zero Trust (ZT) architectures, automated unit, functional, integration, and security testing.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining software factories for rapid development, testing, and deployment of software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
