About the position

The Cybersecurity Engineer (CSE2) position at BSEt, a subsidiary of Tanadgusix Corporation, involves providing Cybersecurity System Engineering support to a U.S. Navy program. The role focuses on the design, implementation, and documentation of Navy systems, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity protocols and enhancing system capabilities. This full-time, on-site position is located in San Diego, CA, and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver effective cybersecurity solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and implementation of Navy system integrations.
  • Document Navy systems and interconnected systems.
  • Configure systems within Navy's lab (development, testing, and production).
  • Update and improve System Design Documents.
  • Review Enterprise Change Requests and collaborate with software engineers for timely delivery of capabilities.
  • Conduct systems engineering for cybersecurity, information assurance, and compliance design.
  • Develop functional and technical requirements and specifications.
  • Monitor the availability, serviceability, and recoverability of installed technology security systems.
  • Implement cybersecurity procedures and tools.
  • Maintain systems configuration and manage installation of system patches and updates.
  • Study malware trends and apply understanding to develop defense-in-depth strategies.
  • Execute operational Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) activities.
  • Evaluate system and network environments for optimal technology integration.

Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • IAT2 certification.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of systems-level engineering experience.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Must possess and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance; prefer a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Demonstrated experience in Cisco networking, including architecture and CLI programming.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project and MS Visio.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with network protocols, switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
