About the position

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) Endpoint Security System (ESS) contract. The candidate will be responsible for operating and sustaining the DLA (Unclassified and Classified) ESS applications and application servers. This role involves managing the Endpoint security servers and operating systems within the DLA network, ensuring that the technical enterprise sustainment activities on the DLA servers and server-related infrastructure are performed as required. The position requires performing a variety of routine project tasks applied to specialized Cybersecurity problems, including the integration of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems or technology problems as they relate to cybersecurity requirements. The Cybersecurity Engineer will analyze information security requirements and apply analytical and systematic approaches in the resolution of problems related to workflow, organization, and planning. The role includes providing security engineering support for planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems. The candidate will coordinate and ensure that ESS application product updates, including hotfixes, patches, and Service Packs, are applied as mandated. Additionally, the deployment of upgrades to existing Endpoint Security modules on DLA managed systems is a key responsibility. The engineer will apply System Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Tier 1 (USCC/DISA) order directives to all applicable ESS products with Area of Responsibility (AOR) and provide documentation in the event it cannot be applied. Working with audit teams as required and applicable to the ESS project in the event of an audit or remediation is also part of the job.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience with implementation of security technologies and architecture, including network security, firewall configuration, intrusion detection, data loss prevention, and application security.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement information security policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with solid presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of security & risk frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience in vulnerability management, including testing, scanning, and patching.
  • Experience conducting and mitigating security/risk assessments.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work successfully in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Technical writing skills.

  • Relevant certification meeting DOD 8570.01 IAT level II (e.g., CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
  • Relevant certification meeting DOD 8570.01 CNDSP-IS (e.g., CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, CND).
  • Computing Environment Certification: HBSS Administrator, HBSS Advanced Overview.
