About the position

The Cybersecurity Engineer SME position at ManTech involves leading efforts to ensure the cybersecurity of information systems within the organization. This role is critical in maintaining a strong security posture through effective controls and countermeasures, while also providing mentorship to junior staff. The position requires a proactive approach to implementing updates and assessing cybersecurity solutions, contributing to the protection of national security.

Responsibilities

• Lead on ensuring cybersecurity for the project's information systems
• Ensure effective controls, countermeasures, and processes are in place and optimized to maintain a strong organizational and system security posture
• Plan and verify the implementation of updates, patches, and routine maintenance of project systems
• Oversee commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) cybersecurity solutions and assess their efficacy as both a security tool and a data source
• Provide supervision and mentorship to subordinate staff while collaborating with other Cybersecurity Engineer IVs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline
• Seven or more (7+) years of related experience
• Hold one of the following certifications within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP

• Relevant industry standard certifications such as Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure)
• Security certification (Security+, CASP, CISSP)
• Tool certifications (Tenable Security Center Specialist, Tanium Certified Administrator, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator)
