About the position

In this critical role as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be part of the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Global team at Lockheed Martin, which is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System. This system is vital for protecting the United States and its allies. The C2BMC team is large but operates through smaller agile teams that collaborate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and the enhancement of other leading-edge missile defense technologies. Your work will involve processing and tracking user account forms, performing assessments of systems and networks, and ensuring compliance with established cybersecurity controls. You will conduct Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) assessments and hardening for various systems, develop test plans, and update Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation. Additionally, you will validate cybersecurity controls, support program test milestones, and coordinate across the program to address deficiencies identified during RMF assessments. This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a U.S. citizen to be considered. As part of the C2BMC-G team, you will work onsite at Schriever Space Force Base, located near Colorado Springs, Colorado. This area is known for its beautiful mountain backdrop and offers a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals, including software and systems engineers, architects, and project engineering teams, contributing to the mission of enhancing national security through advanced missile defense capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Processing and tracking DD Form 2875 user account forms and required training for privileged and non-privileged accounts.
  • Performing assessment of systems and networks within a virtual environment to identify deviations from acceptable configurations and policies.
  • Conducting compliance audits using STIG Viewer, SCAP, and performing vulnerability assessments utilizing ACAS.
  • Performing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) assessments and hardening for Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, and networking equipment.
  • Developing test plans reflecting how STIG checks are implemented and showing expected outcomes of those checks.
  • Updating Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifact documentation to track and remediate system hardening non-compliance.
  • Performing analyses to validate established cybersecurity controls and recommend safeguards.
  • Supporting program test milestones through pre-test preparations, participation in tests, analysis of results, and preparation of required artifacts.
  • Coordinating across the program to address identified deficiencies during RMF assessment activities.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance required to start.
  • IAT Level II/ IAM Level I DoD 8570 certification (Sec+ CE or equivalent).
  • Security engineering skills with a working knowledge of cybersecurity technology and DoD/Federal cybersecurity policy (i.e., DoDI 8500.01, NIST SP 800-53, etc.).
  • Understanding and utilization of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cybersecurity Lifecycle, including identifying controls, generating testable requirements, and conducting verification testing for compliance assessment.
  • Knowledge of Software Assurance (SwA) static and dynamic code analysis (e.g., Fortify/SonarQube).

Nice-to-haves

  • Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration skills.
  • Previous background working in a virtual environment.
  • Experience with dockers and containers.
  • Administering ACAS and ESS (formerly HBSS).
  • Previous experience with ConfigOS.
