About the position

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA), you will play a critical role in safeguarding our national security systems. This position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world scenarios. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive information and systems from cyber threats. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess security risks and vulnerabilities, conduct security audits, and implement remediation strategies. You will also be involved in incident response activities, analyzing security incidents, and providing recommendations for improvements. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders will be essential in ensuring that security measures are understood and adhered to across the organization. Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
• Experience with cloud security and architecture.
