About the position

The Cybersecurity Engineer at GadellNet Consulting Services is responsible for investigating cybersecurity breaches, leading incident response processes, and serving as a subject matter expert for SIEM platforms. This role involves daily monitoring of SIEM alerts, administering vulnerability scans, and remediating identified vulnerabilities across various organizational facets. The position requires a proactive approach to cybersecurity, staying updated on technology trends, and developing knowledge articles and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate cybersecurity breaches and lead the incident response process
  • Be the subject matter expert for SIEM platforms
  • Daily review of SIEM alerts and complete action items resulting from the review
  • Administer and analyze vulnerability scans and present findings to clients with recommendations
  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified in workstations, servers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Cybersecurity Analysts regarding AV/EDR and Cisco Umbrella
  • Institute firewall changes and/or request change approval
  • Stay up to date on cybersecurity technology, trends, and standards
  • Develop knowledge articles and standard operating procedures

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a cybersecurity related position
  • Excellent knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches
  • 2+ years administrating SIEM platforms
  • 2+ years running and interpreting vulnerability scans
  • Proven track record leading Incident Response processes relating to cybersecurity incidents
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A deep desire to drive forward the security posture of the partners we support
