About the position
The Cybersecurity Engineer at GadellNet Consulting Services is responsible for investigating cybersecurity breaches, leading incident response processes, and serving as a subject matter expert for SIEM platforms. This role involves daily monitoring of SIEM alerts, administering vulnerability scans, and remediating identified vulnerabilities across various organizational facets. The position requires a proactive approach to cybersecurity, staying updated on technology trends, and developing knowledge articles and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Investigate cybersecurity breaches and lead the incident response process
- Be the subject matter expert for SIEM platforms
- Daily review of SIEM alerts and complete action items resulting from the review
- Administer and analyze vulnerability scans and present findings to clients with recommendations
- Remediate vulnerabilities identified in workstations, servers, switches, firewalls, etc.
- Serve as an escalation point for Cybersecurity Analysts regarding AV/EDR and Cisco Umbrella
- Institute firewall changes and/or request change approval
- Stay up to date on cybersecurity technology, trends, and standards
- Develop knowledge articles and standard operating procedures
Requirements
- 5+ years in a cybersecurity related position
- Excellent knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches
- 2+ years administrating SIEM platforms
- 2+ years running and interpreting vulnerability scans
- Proven track record leading Incident Response processes relating to cybersecurity incidents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A deep desire to drive forward the security posture of the partners we support
