About the position

GadellNet Consulting Services is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our rapidly growing IT company. This role is crucial in investigating cybersecurity breaches, leading incident response processes, and serving as a subject matter expert for our SIEM platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, with responsibilities that include administering vulnerability scans, remediating vulnerabilities, and staying updated on cybersecurity trends. This position offers a flexible work environment and the opportunity to make a significant impact on our clients' security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate cybersecurity breaches and lead the incident response process
  • Be our subject matter expert for our SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platform(s)
  • Daily review of SIEM alerts - complete any action items resulting from review
  • Administer and analyze vulnerability scans (onboarding and quarterly) and present them to clients with recommendations
  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified in any facet of an organization (workstations, servers, switches, firewall, etc.)
  • Serve as an AV/EDR (Antivirus/Endpoint Detection and Response) and Cisco Umbrella escalation point for Cybersecurity Analysts
  • Institute firewall changes and/or request change approval
  • Stay up to date on cybersecurity technology, trends, and standards
  • Develop knowledge articles and standard operating procedures

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a cybersecurity related position
  • Excellent knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches
  • 2+ years administrating SIEM platforms
  • 2+ years running and interpreting vulnerability scans
  • Proven track record leading Incident Response processes relating to cybersecurity incidents
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A deep desire to drive forward the security posture of the partners we support
