About the position

The Cybersecurity Engineer at Cutsforth, Inc. is responsible for protecting the organization's information systems and networks from cyber threats. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards. The engineer will work closely with IT teams to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks, while also staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security measures to protect information systems and networks.
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are followed in system configurations.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
  • Provide training and support to staff on security awareness and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, and network security technologies.
  • Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are preferred.
  • Experience with cloud security and securing cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java for automation tasks.
