Interns will enjoy a flexible work schedule, with the option to work two days remotely and three days in the office each week at one of our state-of-the-art locations in Chicago, Kansas City, or New York City. The Global Cybersecurity Fusion Center team is currently seeking an Incident Response intern. This position is designed to expose interns to various functions, tools, and activities related to detecting and responding to cybersecurity incidents. Interns will engage in incident triage, develop comprehensive reports for both technical and non-technical audiences, and create scripts or tools to enhance Cboe's incident response capabilities. Additionally, interns will stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies, assist the incident response team with daily operational activities, and contribute to improving incident response processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct incident triage in support of incident response investigations
  • Develop comprehensive reports for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop scripts or tools to enhance Cboe Global Market's incident response processes and capabilities
  • Keep up to date with the latest cyber security threats and technologies
  • Update procedures and methodologies to improve the incident response process
  • Assist incident response team with day-to-day operational activities

Requirements

  • Undergraduate student majoring in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Passion for learning and enthusiasm for cyber security
  • Basic knowledge of security concepts and best practices
  • Understanding of common security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Familiarity with common Ports/Services
  • Basic networking concepts
  • Basic Windows and Linux Operating System concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
