About the position

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Engineer L4 (ISSE) to support classified operations for the Department of Defense (DoD). This role is critical in ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of classified networks. The successful candidate will provide essential day-to-day support, leveraging their expertise to enhance the capabilities of the United States Space Force (USSF). The position requires a DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance System Architecture and Engineering (IASAE) Level III certification, or a combination of Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III certification and relevant experience. In this role, you will be responsible for offering subject matter expertise in cybersecurity, developing and implementing robust security features to protect against unauthorized access and evolving threats. You will work closely with government stakeholders, providing innovative solutions and recommendations to strengthen cybersecurity programs while adhering to Department of the Air Force (DAF), DoD, and Intelligence Community (IC) standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the intricacies of cybersecurity within classified environments and will be expected to travel up to 15% of the time to support contract requirements. The position demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in the DoD, capable of guiding the implementation of cybersecurity measures based on Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles and NIST standards. You will be expected to manage projects effectively, ensuring that all deliverables meet stringent quality standards and align with established metrics. Your role will also involve conducting thorough research and analysis to inform decision-making and enhance mission-critical initiatives. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be required to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for classified networks, ensuring their confidentiality, availability, and integrity.
• Offer subject matter expertise in cybersecurity to enhance capabilities for the United States Space Force (USSF).
• Develop and implement robust security features to protect against unauthorized access and evolving threats.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders to provide recommendations and innovative solutions for cybersecurity programs.
• Ensure adherence to DAF, DoD, and IC standards in all cybersecurity initiatives.
• Guide the implementation of cybersecurity measures based on Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles and NIST standards.
• Manage projects from inception to completion, coordinating tasks, resources, and timelines effectively.
• Conduct thorough research and data analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
• Deliver comprehensive analyses and actionable recommendations to enhance mission-critical endeavors.
• Communicate complex information clearly and effectively to stakeholders through presentations and documentation.

Requirements

• Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
• 15 years of relevant Department of Defense (DoD) experience.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity intricacies and demands within classified environments.
• Mastery of Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles and NIST standards.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of leading initiatives.
• Exceptional analytical capabilities and leadership experience in complex environments.
