Cybersecurity Intern Academy

About the position

The Lockheed Martin Intern Academy is seeking a Summer 2025 Intern to participate in rotations focused on 21st century security critical skills within the THAAD Cybersecurity program. The intern will engage in approximately 320 hours of summer practicum experience and additional training, while supporting cybersecurity efforts across various disciplines and teams. This role is designed for undergraduate students, particularly those in their second year, and emphasizes hands-on experience in cybersecurity and related fields.

Responsibilities

• Complete 2 rotational assignments totaling approximately 320 hours of summer practicum experience.
• Participate in approximately 80 hours of training and instruction during the summer internship.
• Engage in a total of 10 hours of training during the academic year.
• Optionally support recruitment efforts as an intern ambassador for 10 hours during the academic year.
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines and teams to ensure cybersecurity of delivered products and systems.
• Support cybersecurity engineering, requirements, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and risk management framework (RMF) activities.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a second-year university undergraduate program or finishing a two-year degree at an accredited community college.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in STEM-related activities or projects.
• Basic university-level coursework or exposure in software engineering, hardware engineering, cybersecurity, data analytics, automation, or systems engineering.
