About the position

Parsons is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for a summer internship opportunity aimed at technically promising college students interested in cybersecurity. This role offers hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced professionals in a dynamic environment, focusing on internal and customer-focused projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to internal and customer-focused projects under the mentorship of the Satellite Operations Systems and Services team.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments.
• Monitor security logs and incident response.
• Analyze security threats and risks.
• Support system engineering and risk management activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a Computer Science or related curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed typically 1+ year of studies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail and time management skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
• Knowledge of security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS).
• Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
• Course experience/scripting skills (Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS).
